Short Description: Recombinant-Human TIMP-2-C-His protein was developed from hek293 cells and has a target region of C-His. For use in research applications.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.22 Mu m filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.
Immunoreactivity: Measured by its ability to inhibit human MMP-2 cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate Mca-PLGL-Dpa-AR-NH2. The IC50 value is approximately 2.5 nM.

Immunogen: Recombinant Human TIMP-2 Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Cys27-Pro220) of human TIMP2/CSC-21K (Accession #NP_003246.1.) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Function Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-13, MMP-14, MMP-15, MMP-16 and MMP-19.
